Learn how R+D Custom Automation Builds Smarter with Virtual Validation Through Emulate3D

What if you could validate your machine’s performance before it’s even built?

With Rockwell Automation’s Emulate3D, that’s exactly what’s possible—and it’s changing the way manufacturers design, test, and deliver equipment.

A Real-World Application: Syringe Filling Machine

Our latest R&D Emulate3D use case highlights a high-speed syringe filling and labeling machine designed for efficiency, precision, and reliability.

This all-electric system runs at 350 labels per minute and is powered by Rockwell Automation servos and LinMot actuators, operating on a simple 120VAC connection—no pneumatics required.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. A Rockwell servo-driven conveyor moves syringes through the system
  2. A LinMot actuator precisely orients each syringe for accurate labeling
  3. Labels are applied using a servo-driven head and wrap roller
  4. A Cognex vision system inspects each label for accuracy
  5. A second LinMot actuator removes any defective parts after inspection

The result is a highly efficient, precise, and streamlined process—all validated in a virtual environment before a single component is built.

Why Emulate3D Matters

Emulate3D goes beyond visualization—it provides a practical, powerful way to reduce risk, improve performance, and accelerate delivery.

Customer Demonstration & Sales Support

  • Bring concepts to life with interactive, visual models
  • Show how systems will operate before they exist
  • Create engaging videos and simulations
  • Improve customer understanding and confidence during the sales process

Faster, Smarter Design

  • Demonstrate prototypes and full system operation early
  • Analyze layouts and optimize product flow
  • Test and refine designs before fabrication begins

Controls Testing

  • Test and debug PLC code in a virtual environment
  • Simulate HMI performance and system interactions
  • Validate integration with upstream equipment
  • Reduce commissioning time and unexpected issues

Operator Training

  • Train operators on a virtual machine before equipment is built
  • Improve readiness and reduce startup delays

From Concept to Confidence

By leveraging Emulate3D, manufacturers can move from concept to validated design with greater speed and confidence. Instead of discovering issues during commissioning, they can address them early—saving both time and cost.

At Revere, we see this technology as a game-changer for both machine builders and end users. It not only improves how equipment is designed and tested but also strengthens how solutions are communicated and sold.
